One can get tired of conventionally “pretty” things and when you take a closer look at what is seemingly ugly on the surface it is where one finds beauty.

In 2012 the insect bijoux started crawling back into fashion when amongst the chicly dressed crowds at the couture shows in Paris, one stylish creature stood out above them all: a larger-than-life beetle bedecked with pearls and a dazzling iridescent coat. The eye-catching metallic insect was designed by Delfina Delettrez worn by Shala Monroque.

Since then designers from Jason Wu, Violet Darkling, Les Nereides and Tom Binns to Oscar de la Renta, Azaara, Gucci and Fendi have all realized realized the beauty of the bug!

This summer we bring you our ALESSANDRA handbag featuring our very own darling dragonfly with delicate detailing it is not purely decorative but is in fact a functional handbag lock!

We paired it with a full glaze lizard, perfect for the summer in this classic silhouette, with a full lizard strap for the day as a cross body or detached and still small enough to carry as a clutch for the evening.
